Business Analyst - Project Management Office

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Business Analyst acts as a liaison to facilitate collaboration between Business Lines, Project Management Office, Developers, and IT for new projects and enhancements. The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering user requirements, performing/coordinating testing, and documentation.Completes planned data processing activities: file creation, report formatting and distribution, validation checks, etc.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Jefferson Capital business processes, systems, and core data assets.
  • Capture information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, drill down high-level information into details and summarize low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Work with users and project sponsors to define and capture requirements.
  • Perform one on one interviews, host group meetings, and conduct workshops.
  • Work with Development Team to develop new solutions and enhance existing ones.
  • Develop test cases for new and existing features, perform QA testing, work with business units to develop and execute user acceptance tests, and log/track status of defects.
  • Support formal Project Management Life Cycle, Software Development Life Cycle, and Change Management Process.

Education & Experience:

  • 4 year College Degree in related field or equivalent related experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience as Business Analyst or Systems Analyst preferred.
  • Proven track record in successfully gathering, analyzing and documenting project requirements.
  • Experience in the financial services industry (credit, banking, insurance, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution preferred.
  • Experience working in agile software development environments preferred.
  • Understanding of databases, SQL, and analytics preferred.
  • Experience in all phases of Project Management Life Cycle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
